The Affiliate Agreement

Who Can Join

You must be eighteen or older. You are not our employee, partner or agent, and nothing here makes you one. You cannot speak for us, sign anything for us, or answer for the book as though you made it. A member of our own household may take part, and must say so in the same breath as the recommendation.

Your Link and Your Code

Your code is yours alone and cannot be handed, sold or lent to anyone. A click on your link is remembered on that person’s device for thirty days, and the most recent link wins if they click somebody else’s after yours. We can pause or end your code at any time, and you can stop at any time.

What You Earn

$10 for each book bought through your link at the full price of $39, unless we have agreed a different number with you in writing. We can change the rate with thirty days notice, and the new rate applies only to sales after it starts, never to ones already made.

Nothing else earns a commission, ever. Not recurring support for the work, which is what the Stand With the Work page takes: that money is never commissionable in any amount. Not gift links, not books given to a family at no cost, not anything minted by us rather than bought, and not a book you buy yourself or for your own household.

When You Are Paid

A sale is held for thirty five days, because a family can ask for their money back within thirty. After that it becomes payable, and payable balances are sent by PayPal about the fifth of each month once you are owed fifty dollars or more. Below that the balance waits for the next month. If either of us ends this agreement, everything you are owed is paid in full at the next run, whatever the balance.

If a family is refunded or disputes a charge, the commission for that sale comes back: it is cancelled if we have not paid it yet, and taken off your next payment if we have. We collect a W-9 from United States affiliates before the first payment and file a 1099-NEC where the year’s payments require one. If you are outside the United States we will ask for a W-8BEN instead.

What You Must Say

Every time you recommend the book you must say that you earn a commission if someone buys through your link. Clearly, next to the recommendation itself, in the same medium: in the caption and in the video, not only in a bio, not behind a more link, and not buried in a row of hashtags. This sentence does it: I earn a commission if you buy through my link.

Say what our storefront says and no more. It is 52 chapters drawn from 40 books, not the whole Bible. The two keys are a family privacy latch, not bank grade security. No book changes a child, and you must not promise that this one will. Do not write a review as though you were an ordinary customer. If we ask you to take a post down or correct it, please do, and if you will not, the commission on it is forfeit.

What You Must Not Do

Do not buy through your own link. Do not bid on our name, our book’s name or our domain in any advertising, or run ads that could be mistaken for ours. Do not put the link on coupon, deal or voucher sites. Do not send unsolicited email. Do not place it beside adult, hateful or violent material. Do not imitate our site, our emails or our tree.

Whose Families They Are

We will never tell you who bought through your link: not their name, not their email, not their children. Your page shows dates, amounts and nothing else. That is not a policy we could quietly change one day, because we do not record the connection in the first place.

Ending It

Either of us can end this at any time, for any reason, by saying so. Accrued commission is still paid. Sales made before the end are still honoured through their hold period. Illinois law governs this agreement, as it does our Terms of Service.
